Dr Ayesha Verrall (Labour Party), Dr Shane Reti (National Party) and Chloe Swarbrick (Green Party) spoke to over 100 members of the public health sector and media at a political panel on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, in Wellington. The politicians presented their views on reducing harm from alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy food. The event, including a 45-minute Q & A session was hosted by Radio New Zealand senior broadcaster and journalist Corin Dann and organised by Health Coalition Aotearoa, the Public Health Communications Centre, and the University of Otago, Wellington.

The panel coincided with the release of Health Coalition Aotearoa's policy survey of the political parties, which you can read more about in this Public Health Expert Briefing article: Tobacco, alcohol and unhealthy food - where the parties stand: Election 2023
